The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Scheme of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Nigeria branch was formally launched on July 6.

The institute is the leading international professional membership organisation, renowned for its qualitative educational/training programme and its emphasis on compliance with the highest standards of ethical conduct.

The CIArb is a not-for-profit charity, which works in the public interest through an international network of 37 branches with over 15,000 members based in more than 130 countries. It has supported the global promotion, facilitation and development of private dispute resolution for the past 100 years, while representing the interests of alternative dispute practitioners globally.

The Chairman of CIArb in Nigeria, Mrs. Rhodes-Vivour, emphasised that the MSME Scheme was in line with the institute’s commitment to making alternative means of dispute resolution more accessible to a wider category of business owners with reduced costs and quick timelines.

She emphasised that, “MSME is an integral part of the economic fabric of our country and entrepreneurs need to be fully aware of alternative means of resolving their business disputes outside the court system.”
