– The building which collapsed on Abimbola street, Ilasa, Lagos state claimed the lives of three people while 19 others were injured

The building which reportedly collapsed on Abimbola street, Ilasa, Lagos state, happened around 2pm on Thursday.

The general manager of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Adesina Tiamiyu while speaking with Premium Times said that: “Three persons were recovered dead and were taken to Lagos Mainland Mortuary Yaba.”

The injured, according to him, were taken to Isolo General Hospital.

Presently many persons are said to be trapped in the wreckage

According to PM news, director, Lagos state Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe cobfirmed that a three-storey building under construction collapsed at Richard Abimbola Street, Ilasa, Lagos.

 The scene of incident revealed that unknown number of labourers were doing their various works at different areas. Further investigation revealed that fourteen of the labourers have been rescued and some are being treated by the agency’s medical team and Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) while some had been rushed to the hospital.

“Extraction of trapped victims on going and no mortality recorded at the moment”, General Manager LASEMA Mr Adesina Tiamiyu said.
