Pervert: Leslie Bullha secretly used his mobile phone to film his female lodger while she was using the bathroom

A married man made secret recordings of his lodger taking showers after becoming obsessed following her breast enlargement.

Leslie Bullha, 53, used a mobile phone, which he hid behind toiletries in the bathroom, to make covert recordings on three separate occasions.

Newcastle Crown Court heard that the victim had moved in with Bullha temporarily while she recuperated from the surgery last year.

Bullha, of South Shields, was arrested after the 24-year-old lady became suspicious of Bullha's behaviour and found computer equipment in the loft.

Prosecutor Kevin Wardlaw told the court: 'In interview he stated he had hidden his mobile telephone behind some toiletries in the bathroom and had become obsessed with the complainant and with the surgery she had undergone and wished to see for himself the results of that surgery.

'He stated he downloaded the footage to his laptop then put it on a memory stick.

'By way of background he stated his wife was in ill health and he was suffering from sexual frustration and quite simply became obsessed with the complainant.'

The woman told police her social life has been hugely effected by what happened and she can no longer use any other bathroom except her own.

She also lost her job in the aftermath of what happened.

Judge David Wood sentenced Bullha, who pleaded guilty to three charges of voyeurism, to a community order for three years with a requirement to complete a sex offender treatment programme.

Judge Wood said: 'On three occasions you took secret footage of this woman while she was naked in the shower.

'You put them on a memory stick.

'Although there is no evidence you showed them to anyone else, clearly she lives in daily fear you may have done or you may do at some point.

'She has obviously suffered a great loss of confidence as a result of your breach of trust.

'She feels unable to have a proper social life or go out.
'It has had an unpleasant effect on her life.'

The judge said a community sentence was appropriate due to Bullha's lack of previous convictions and him being considered a low risk of re-offending by probation experts.
