enyeama, nigeria's no 1, one of the best goalkeepers to come out of africa, we hope you take over the no1 spot in lille, and you will have the opportunity to face the best strikers in europe. We expect more tangeble moves by nigerian players

collinx: 2011-06-10 12:52

This is a move that has been long overdue,Thank God it has finally materialised.Nigerian best keeper for the last 6 yrs no doubt! I wish u all the best even though you have to start from the bench for atleast one season, keep fit and stay focus!

enugu4life: 2011-06-10 12:57

Vincent Enyeama went to Lille as the n° 2 goal keeper, that is what he said in his face book and other sports site said so, i need to work very hard.
good luck and patient to you.

Maratha: 2011-06-10 13:03

Haba... this guy was 30years old during the World Cup now he is 28 years old??? na wa ooooooo abeg!!!

Game147: 2011-06-10 13:04

I'm happy for this guy. Very brave goalkeeper. He doesn't care if their eleven Lionel Messi or C. Ronaldo on the pitch. He believes in ; ' anything you be mek you carry am come I full ground'. For Me, this guy is the best Nigeria goalkeeper ever. The difference is that while the likes of Emmanuel Okala, Peter Rufai e.t.c enjoyed good defensive cover , Enyeama plays with jittery and porous defenders. I wish Nigeria tightens up its defense so as to enable this guy win trophies for Nigeria. He deserves the best. Enyeama the 'brave-heart' , see you in the Champions League. Up Naija.

Baba Dudu: 2011-06-10 13:06

@Baba Dudu you are right and I say Messi doesn't accept brown envelopes you are going to be taught a very harsh lesson. Siasia must just send his resignition letter beforehand because he will be haunted out of Nigeria by the blood thirsty fans after this match!!! That dirty no 5 and 13 will be tormented for 90minutes they might just as well fake injuries now and go for surgery hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

luise-hero: 2011-06-10 13:14

Kolawole1: 2011-06-10 13:21

@Baba dudu.

So wha is wrong in Samson Siasia's statement?

Since when did it become a crime for a coach to answer questions from the press about his expectations for his team? or to drop hints about his plans for success in upcoming games?
What amounts to 'talking too much' in what you just posted? or would you rather have a deaf and mute as coach?

Maratha: 2011-06-10 13:21

@luis-hero I am just adding to Baba Dudu about Siasia's comments read:

Baba Dudu: 2011-06-10 13:03 [ Report ]

CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL SAMSON SIASIA HE TALKS TO MUCH? FOOTBALL IS PLAYED WITH THE LED AND NOT MOUTH. ONLY GOD KNOWS WHO TALKS MORE, OSAZE OR HIM....

Eagles ’ll beat Argentina again - Siasia

Without trying to undermine any forum-nite here but i wonder wot some of us have upstairs i dont know why an average Nigerian is always sentimental should it be a person like Yak who found himself in this angle most of us here would have ask Siasia to ban him for life for disrespecting our green jersey, but becos it is Osaze we have suddenly became emotional just becos he scored 15 goals in the entire season how about some players who netted 50goals 40goals 30 and 25goals should they be tag untouchable in their respective nations,

you see humility cannot be bought in d market if you dont have it is simply you cant learnt it becos humility must be in-born not something you learn that is the more reason why i love, respect and admire about that wonder kid called Messi if d likes of Osaze had 50percent of Messi talent OMG Nigeria could have been in trouble by now becos anytime you need him for national assignment you must fly him in a presidential or private jet if not then count him out,

Messi got an incredible talent he is a once in a life time player but his humility on and off d pitch can not be measured Messi never made headline for d wrong reasons.

If am Sia1 and by now Osaze had not call or send an email to me or d captain to explain himself believe me if he like let him go to CNN and apologize dat will be for himself though i will accept his apology but i will now place a temporal ban of 2years on him and additional 2years suspended ban if NFF dont buy d idea let them go and look for another coach period! cos by so doing no player will ever think of disrespecting d national team ever in d future

If by mistake you think i hate Osaze then do yourself a favor and Olatunbosun my past comment on KON about Osaze becos am one among d few here who wasted my time "yes i mean WASTED" in reporting Osaze goal and performance in EPL, and Sia1 should henceforth stop answering questions about Osaze and in my part this will be d last time to comment on this Osaze issue becos is not worth it anymore.

I laugh wen i read sometin like we could have won in Ethiopia if Osaze was included in d team AFAAC we could have lost dat game if Osaze was there d reasons are too obvious for some who knows football very well, if football trophies are won by individual talents then Ivory coast national team could have been the champions of champ in Africa and a team to reckon with in d world

I know that during the course of the Kanu testimonial some players like Kanu, Jay Jay and Peterside Edah will intervene to get Osaze tender an apology but i urge Siasia to as a matter of sensitivity and national interest to drop Osaze on our way to Madagascar if not we might kiss AFCON 2012 goodbye

Austin: 2011-06-10 13:49

Enyeama desrves to walk into the starting eleven of any team in the world. I am not happy that he is going to be number two for any team in Europe, the least, Lille in France! He sure deserves better!

no be una fault: 2011-06-10 14:00

If we as a football nation ever regret dropping Osaze then we have no right to pride ourselves as an African giant in football. we all agreed that Siasia is building a new team but why must we expect to conquer the world with a team under experiment, in Nigeria we lack so many things and one of them is patience look at Senegal today it took them years to form this wonderful unit we all see in that team in the process they missed out on one or two ANC but their fans were patience and today they are enjoying football,d indispensable Diuof who sees himself as d bedrock of d Senegalese team then is begging writing multiple letters to d President of Senegal to prevail on the Coach to let him back in the team

Even though i know we will still qualify automatically to ANC 2012 but in case were we dont make it we must accept it in good faith as a price we need to pay in other to get it right in our football becos gone are d days wen reputations plays football now if you are not ready d so called small team will teach you football lessons

In Siasia interview after d Ethiopia games he said dat it is time to ring the changes in personnel that means he had some standby players he need to test before he come up with his final squad a team Nigerians will love to watch play real football, i told a friend who was equally mad about our away result that if Nigerians want the SE to qualify to Brazil 2014 and break that jinx of no African team to reach the semis in d WC then we must learn to give Siasia the free hand to cook this team for Nigeria and d time to start doing that is now.

A CHILD MUST LEARN TO CRAWL BEFORE WALKING

Segun: 2011-06-10 14:04

@Baba Dudu, do not be deceived by Nigerian journalists' sentimental headlines. The original story in BBC was headlined 'Siasia rued Argentina friendly'and there was no place in the report where he said that he would have beaten Argentina 4 - 1 if Messi and others had been paraded.
The main gist of the report was that even if we beat Argentina again and does not qualify for the nations cup, it will count for nothing. I think Super Eagles media officer needs to address the press men to be careful with the way they caption their news report else Siasia should just reduce interviews he grants to press men.

Marvel: 2011-06-10 14:17

Congrats to Enyeama for the new contract. However, being our number one goal keeper, am inclined to ask if this decision is for his best interest and Nigeria. I suspect that he is going to Lille as a back-up keeper and therefore, going to join the league of bench-warmers. At Happoel he enjoyed regular national and continental football. What does a player enjoy more than playing? It is sad that he is going to Lille. A big fish in a small pond could have been better as Lille is likely going to lose some of the players that made it thick last season if success is his drive. Wish him luck any way.

Also, am very concerned about our goal keeping department in the national team (SE). In the abscence of Enyeama we feel very light. Ayenugba doesnt impress me. Vanzekin has been destroyed by pride and Ajiboye of the U23 looks like alaye guy. Looks very hyperactive. Hope his handlers can help him to concentrate and talkless. Our central defence is weak. This may be controversial, I would like Chukwudi (formerly of the U17) to be given a chance in U23 or SE. There's a kind of maturity in his game that Efe doesnt posses. Yobo may not be Yobo in 2014.

gerry: 2011-06-10 14:39

@Marvel, you asked a good question, but i think it is firstly for his own interest. Remember in isreal, he has been there, done it and got the T-shirt to show for it.

He can't because he wants to be Nigeria No1 choice and remain in an obscured league for the rest of his career The Guy needs fresh challenge and if it lille can provide it for him so be it.

We would all love Enyema to be No 1 choice at his club, if he doesn't become No 1 then he would have to work hard for it. He wants a fresh challenge, he got one. we all wish him all the best.

SIASIA VOWS: I WON’T INVITE OSAZE UNTIL...

Posted: Jun 10, 2011

FOOTBALL:

Nigeria's senior national team head coach, Head Coach, insists West Brom of England inspirational forward,Peter Osaze Odemwingie will not be recalled to the national team unless he apologises to him and his Eagles colleagues for breaking camp rules last March.

This is a clear indication that Osaze would be out of the next matches of the Eagles
According to Siasia,Osaze, who is expected to feature in this weekend's Kanu N****wo testimonial match scheduled for the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos remains suspended until he apologises to his Super Eagles team mates over what he called the unacceptable way he walked out on the team after the Nations Cup qualifying match against Ethiopia in Abuja.

"He (Osaze) knows what is expected of him by both the players and the technical crew of the Super Eagles and until he does the right thing by officially apologizing and showing remorse for the way he abandoned the team,we shall not call him to camp again" he stated matter-of-factly.

Siasia is particularly furious that the player has been speaking unguardedly to the press over the issue rather than doing what is expected of him and get himself free to be part of the team again.

"I do not want to talk about the Osaze issue again; I do not see it as a personal case. It is very simple, Osaze has not apologized to me, and he has not apologized to the team or even the FA for what he did. It is not an individual thing; rather it is all about the team so I believe that he knows what to do if he wants to be part of the team. He must apologize to the team before he will be considered again'.

Basil: 2011-06-10 16:34

Siasia please take it easy. Since the gist over Osaze walking out of camp, he Osaze has been quiet, has not spoken a word, it means he's remorseful, not everyone would kneel to apologize. Please forgive him and call him like your child for the interest of your fans,Nigeria and even Osaze's Career. He needs Nigeria as much as Nigeria needs him. How can a Nigerian write about Osaze that he's not Nigerian. Considering all he's done for Nigeria, lets be sensible, we are all humans and we make mistakes, to condemn him for this singular mistake and forget all he achieved for/with Nigeria is very unfair, he may have had disagreements with Siasia, Vogts or Amaodu in the past, i think Osaze is too committed to me left out of Nigeria team, he plays his heart out any time he wore the Green White Green. All what we hear and read may actually not be exactly as it transpired, this guy has been through alot, Nigerians must get to understand what it means not to be accepted abroad and back home your suppossed own people rejects you after putting your life and career on the line. Please Siasia think.

For those who like to taunt Kanu eg:Billion & co should read the below article and learn to hide their wretched moneykor face in total shame:

10 June 2011

What is pressure?

For N****wo Kanu, it was when in 1996, just weeks after he led Nigeria to an historic Olympic soccer Gold that doctors told him he has a heart condition and he will not play football again.

“I remember when they told me 'you are not going to play football again' and all hope was lost, but I prayed and I came back to start winning trophies again. So, whatever comes to me, is just a bonus,” recalled the former Nigeria World Cup star.

Kanu defied this terrifying diagnosis to go to win trophies with ****nal and Portsmouth.

Soon a movie ‘The Lionheart’ showcasing this amazing true life story will premiere in Nigeria and Europe.

On Saturday in Lagos, Kanu, supported by some of African football’s icons like George Weah, Samuel Eto’o and Michael Essien, will formally call time on his international career as well as kick start a drive to raise five billion naira (about $35 million) to build a cardiac specialist centre in Abuja.

The 34-year-old Portsmouth striker, founded his foundation on June 20, 2000, to assist those suffering from heart ailments.

“The most important gold I'm winning now is to save the lives of those who have heart problems. If I'm able to do that, I have won the African Nations Cup and the World Cup put together,” said Kanu.

According to former sports journalist Onyebuchi Abia, who heads the Kanu Heart Foundation (KHF), the non-governmental organisation has spent an average of 7,000 US dollars on the 250 children it has facilitated their treatment in Israel, India and London.

It also brought in cardiac surgery equipment worth over $240,000 to treat children in Nigeria. These equipment are housed at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) Enugu.

“The vision of the founder is to give the African child who is suffering from any heart ailment a new lease of life and hope,” offered Abia.

There could not be a more worthy person than ‘Papilo’ to lend a helping hand to his fellow countrymen.

In October, Kanu was picked by the Nigerian government alongside prominent statesmen and politicians like Nnamdi Azikiwe and Obafemi Awolowo among the top 50 Nigerians as part of the country’s 50th independence anniversary.

He remains the most decorated Nigerian player in Europe after winning major honours in the Netherlands with Ajax Amsterdam as well as in England with ****nal and Portsmouth.

The recently appointed Ambassador of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) featured at three World Cups, 1998, 2002 and 2010. He led Nigeria to an historic Olympic soccer gold in 1996. He has also been voted CAF Footballer of the Year twice and he is an Ambassador of the UNICEF.

For someone whose promising career looked like it would suffer a premature end after it was discovered at Italian club Inter Milan that he suffered from a serious heart defect, he has done very well for himself.

Besides his foundation, Kanu has proved to be a very shrewd investor in the Nigerian economy.

The Kanu business empire is reportedly worth over three billion naira and growing.

The bean-pole striker has invested in various sectors – in a local airline, a major shareholder in a bank that has now merged with several others, part-owns a guest house in London as well as a 70-room Hardley Suites Hotel in Lagos and a table water company.

He also has huge holdings in several leading Nigerian banks and property both in Nigeria and England.

In his hometown of Owerri, he is competing with top politicians in acquiring properties in the state capital. In Owerri alone he is believed to have over 40 houses and over a dozen scattered across Onitsha, Umuahia and Aba. They are all being rented.

His London home is “a little paradise on earth”. Located in a highbrow estate in North London, the majestic white house comes with an indoor swimming pool; a spectacular sitting room and a long drive way.

In the garage are a Mercedes-Benz Jeep and a Ferrari. He bought the house for about 2.5 million pounds a year after he joined the London Gunners and today that same property is valued at over four million pounds.

Without a doubt, Kanu has defied all the odds to become the lion king in the heart of millions of Nigerians

bams: 2011-06-10 17:12

Osaze is really the cause of this whole issue. He knows team code of condcut and broke it. He knows the path of redemption but refused to tow the line. You forgive only someone does apologises not someone bragging over same mistake. This guy did not walk out on Siasia alone but also on his teammates, NFF, Nigerian football and Nigeria. Imagine if Mikel had done same. A for Oliseh, what do you expect? He needs Sia sia's job. Osaze is a good player alright but he is not the best we have ever seen so he has to calm down, there will be a time when he will need his country after falling out of favour in club footbal then he will learn humility. As for Enyeama, you are the best

bams: 2011-06-10 17:13

AWait a minute, when was the last time Osaze scored for the Super Eagles?
