Serie A: Gasperini grabs point on Genoa return <img src="http://assets.espn.go.com/icons/watch.png">
Serie A: Genoa 1-1 Palermo
Gian Piero Gasperini made an emotional return to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris as his Palermo side picked up a point against Genoa with a 1-1 draw.
Gasperini, who was the last man to lead Genoa into Europe, took his seat on the visitors' bench and saw Luigi Giorgi give his side the lead in the 15th minute.
However, Marco Borriello, whose best season in the past five years came under Gasperini, replied in the 52nd minute to earn Genoa a point.
Gasperini was the man who led Genoa into Serie A in 2007 and also guided them into the Europa League in 2009, spending over four years at the club.
He is still held in high esteem by the Rossoblu fans and was given a warm reception when he walked on to the pitch behind his team.
Eugenio Corini made a winning start to life as coach of Chievo as the Flying Donkeys ended a five-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over Sampdoria at the Stadio Bentegodi.
Corini replaced Domenico di Carlo earlier this week and the change in command paid immediate dividends with goals from Cyril Thereau and David Di Michele earning them only their second win of the campaign.
Enzo Maresca was on target for Samp, who were beaten for the second weekend running after going down to Napoli last Sunday.
