WARRI – KOKODI AGBENE community contractors, executing the multi-million naira cottage hospital for the oil–rich people of Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, have given Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC, a 48-hour ultimatum to pay them for work done or face their wrath.

The community’s Financial Secretary, Mr. Jackson Timiyan, in a joint statement with Capt. Jonathan Uti and Godfrey Ike, on behalf of the other contractors, said the ultimatum had become imperative as various banks from where loans were obtained for the execution of the project, were now set to confisticate their property used as collateral due to default in re-payment of the loans.

They claimed that they had executed the hospital project to Shell’s specification and expressed worry that the company was not living up to its pledge of paying up for them to meet the completion time frame.
