Guatemala finished its Gold Cup Group B campaign with its first win, a 4-0 victory against Grenada. The blow-out was by enough of a margin to see the victors qualify for the quarterfinals.

Youngster Jose Del Aguila opened the scoring for the Chapines in the 16th minute, and Marco Pappa doubled the lead six minutes later. Guatemala was superb in attack, but had to wait until after half-time for its next goal. Carlos Ruiz added a third in the 54th minute, and Carlos Gallardo made it 4-0 five minutes later.

The result sees Guademala move level on points with Honduras, but its margin of victory was not enough to see the Chapines move second. The Chapines will nonetheless advance to the quarterfinals, having earned a better goal difference than Group A third-place finishers El Salvador. Grenada was all but eliminated entering tonight's match, and the loss confirmed it will not be among the quarterfinalists.
