Ruud Krol's future with Orlando Pirates has still not decided

Gucci Man: 2011-06-03 13:25

OOhhhhh yhaaaa, safa indaba ka-Krol

Yawning...

Jomo : 2011-06-03 13:33

As a Pirates supporter, i feel bad when our management is acting so unprofessional. Why are they doing this to the coach who won us a treble. This really proves that our management had signed a pre contract with another coach (Stoichkov) with the hope that Krol will fail to win the league and Nedbank so that they could show him the door but it didnt happen the way they thought it would be. Personally i would advise Krol to look for another team bcos there wont be pressure for him at the new club than trying to defend what he has won with us. It pains me seeing players being praised by the chairman and not doing the same to the coach. Clearly Krol's services are no longer needed by the club and we as supporters will be looking for results whilst the new coach would be trying to istill his methods to the players and it would take time for players to adapt to the new system. Im so disappointed by how our management conducts its affairs.

Bonga: 2011-06-03 13:43

Let us respect Khoza and his decisions. He will take a good decisoin for the good of the team. Remember he released Steve Lekoelea, Teko Modise and we were angry for that. What happened next? He once released Ronnie Zondi, Mike Mhlanga, Shakes Gwabeni, Johnny Masegela, Dan Malesela n Jacky Ledwaba all at once and we were angry but the team did extremely well without them. We love Krol and we want him to continue his good works for Bucs but we hv to respect Khoza's decision.

Matopani: 2011-06-03 13:45

Neville come on man don't behave like you did not go to school. When your employers don't tell you to leave when your contract ends it means they still want you to stay. This is cristal clear that Our Krol is coming back he even said so himself so please report something better or take a leave.

Isaac : 2011-06-03 13:49

isaac senyolo: 2011-06-03 13:52

bonga i am a chiefs supporter but you are out of order, khoza must give the coach a new contract, look at the success record of man unted and barcelona and ****nal, all that is because they have retained their coaches whether bad or good

Stonza: 2011-06-03 13:54

Matopani: 2011-06-03 13:45 [ Report ]
That is just plain dumb, i will comment no more on that...
This is just sad, because now he could be hunting for a new club if he is not wanted... I think he still likes Pirates, and that is good....

Fela: 2011-06-03 13:59

Kickoff Neville Khoza i can see you dont have news to report on...

Krol does knows were he stand the problem is you dont know and you dying to.
If Krol wants the terms of his contract to be improved do you think Khoza can make that decision within 24 hours? Krol will coach Pirates next season otherwise the position will be filled by Craig Rossley who is rumoured to be leaving and you did not even bother to ask him about this rumours.

legs of storm : 2011-06-03 14:00

was it necessary for Kick Off to write abot ths even thou theres nthing to report about. Ths is like the Public Service workers who wuld be calld by their unions during strike just to be told the government has not increased the waie offer. Sometimes i wonder.

Fela: 2011-06-03 14:02

As for asking Modisane about Krol's contract that is laughable Neville. If Krol does not know were he stand with the team how can Modisane know?

Nevisto: 2011-06-03 14:12

Sure Matopani
Pirates have not said anything abt Krol coming back or not. The coach said he hopes everything can be done next week, remember his contract is coming to end this month bra. This is a follow up on a story we did ealrier as he said he wanted to go on holiday knowing whether they will renew his contract or not. @Isaac LOL gud quastion, m not related to the Chairman.

KING: 2011-06-03 14:28

Nevisto: u reported that Kroll was in talks with Dr Irvin Khoza.

Please report what was the outcome of their meeting held.

U also reported that, on the review session Kroll and Luckys future where on the agenda.

Please report the outcome of that discusion.

Tebogo! : 2011-06-03 14:33

I am a khosi fan and hope pirates won't renew krol's contract for the sake of our football even gavin hunt's game plan is better than krol's who relies in players' individual brilliance, he once relied on teko and mashego until they were finished, he relied on mhlongo until he was out, he relied on chansa and he is finished, he relied on mbuyane he is finished, he relies on jali and manyisa now, jali is almost finished, this guy doesn't care about players, he is just working to survive for the day, what happens after he reali don't give a damn, he knows he will select the other since pirates has a bunch of talented players! 3 years and I don't c what side he has built, fotsek maan!

mash-do : 2011-06-03 14:37

lol pie city suppoters are really crazy!...so kickoff must wait for pie city to release some kind of a statement so that they can report about the coach?.....the fact is that dr/pastor khoza didnt praise him he only praised his players! Wat does that mean?.......thanx neville for answering these idiots even though it wasnt nescessary!

PRINCE: 2011-06-03 14:38

COME ON PEOPLE, STOP WORRYING ABOUT KROL, HE IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE. I AM A RELIABLE SOURCE WITH THE RIGHT INFORMATION. KROL WILL BE AT PIRATES FOR THE NEXT TWO SEASONS BUT THE MAIN MANDATE THIS TIME AROUND IS TO MAKE SURE PIRATES REACH THE SEMI FINALS OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE AND ALSO DO WELL IN THE LEAGUE. ON THE 31ST OF MAY, DR KHOZA SAID and i quote, "WELL DONE GUYS TO THE TECHNICAL TEAM (after they presented the season report and a list of players to be released and Krol's recommendations), NOW THAT THE LEAGUE IS HERE, THIS IS A BIG TEAM IN AFRICA AND IT CANT BE A BIG TEAM WITHOUT AFRICAN ACCOLADES. YOU GUYS WILL CONTINUE WITH YOUR GOOD WORK NEXT SEASON IN OUR QUEST FOR AFRICAN GLORY. BUT, I HAVE TO SAY THAT OUR PARTNERS (the sponsors) ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE BRAND OF FOOTBALL WE DISPLAYED BUT I UNDERSTAND. LETS TRY AND APPROACH IT A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENTLY NEXT TERM. MIX ENTERTAINING FOOTBALL WITH RESULTS. ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAYS." unquote. SO FORGET ABOUT THESE MEDIA GUYS, THERE IS NOTHING TO WRITE ABOUT ANYMORE. EVEN MICKEY KNOWS THAT KROL WAS GUARANTEED TWO MORE YEARS BUT ITS NOT YET OFFICIAL SO HE CANNOT GO TO THE MEDIA AND SAY IT. CASE CLOSED

Tolly.ba.Thathe : 2011-06-03 14:40

But what's the use of coming to us with a question "Krol's future?" When you don't have anything to report about? Please come on man. Perhaps you shouldn't have said anything until OPFC call a press conference. I didn't do journalism but logic dictates that you report when you have facts and something to report on.

Tolly.ba.Thathe : 2011-06-03 14:44

In fact I really don't know what is it that KO and/or Farmers are chasing in Krol's future when they should be telling us about a useless coach who won only one trophy...what about him? Can you leave our team alone please? You just want to create mountain out of nothing. If you are short of stories to report on go out and research, stop focusing on one person. Or maybe Krol and OPFC have become centres of attraction?

legs of storm : 2011-06-03 14:45

@Mash-potato only a fool like you answers when nt asked and when not necessary. And the most foolish thngs a fool can do is to talk when there nthng to talk about.

Tolly.ba.Thathe : 2011-06-03 14:51

Jomo:2011-06-03 13:33

How sure are you about that? Bakhaniya, stop entertaining these fools by pasting such comments. OPFC doesn't owe any explanation, announcements or report on who signed with the club, whether coach has extended or not, or rather we have a new one.

What if Khoza and Krol agreed not to tell anyone? As much you are saying the team is unprofessional...be careful you might end up accusing the team for no apparent reason because you might turn out to be surprised that the coach signed long time ago...what are you going to say? Are you going to blame them for not announcing before he left for holidays?

Abijan95: 2011-06-03 14:54

Kick-Off why u hate Ersenal so much???......why so much hatred????

Ta - Alex: 2011-06-03 14:55

Releasing Krol is a biggest mistake if we do so, this guy is amazing, the players are enjoying his visibility, hiring a new coach without a single mistake from previous coach is going to confuse & frustrate the players meaning that we'll have lot of looses and draws next season coz players won't accept this stupid nonsense.
Krol's contract should be renewed before going on holiday, if they sign him from his holiday then it means Khoza didn't get the coach to replace which is bullshut ******s.

Nevisto: 2011-06-03 14:56

@King we never reported that Krol was in talks with Khoza. In fact what we said was Krol will submit his report for the whole season which he did that, and that their future will be on agenda it was a technical team meeting. Unfortunately the chairman was not there but what we have told is that he will definately renew Lekgwathi's contract by another season not sure if u read that on our web earlier this week. However, when a boss praises his players and says nothing to a choach what does that mean to you? the chairman never said anything to Krol abt how he perfomed this season. Think abt this man.

u reported that Kroll was in talks with Dr Irvin Khoza.

Please report what was the outcome of their meeting held.

U also reported that, on the review session Kroll and Luckys future where on the agenda.

Please report the outcome of that discusion

Kamwendo Keen For Bucs Return

Josephy KamwendoVasco da Gama midfielder Josephy Kamwendo is due to return to Orlando Pirates after the promotional playoffs, which the club from Cape Town will take part in from June 8 against Black Leopards.

The Malawian was loaned to Vasco at the beginning of the season to help the team adapt to life in the PSL and try to survive in the big league. Kamwendo told the Siya crew that he is still keen on helping the club and afterwards he will honour the agreement and return to Bucs.

“They know our deal, so I have to go back to Pirates and take it from there. They’ve had a great season and were the best team. To be part of that team, who can say no? If they want me back, I’d be happy to return but if they say they’ve got enough quality then we will see the way forward. Pirates will always be my home and first choice because they’ve shown me this beautiful country.

"A lot of teams were interested in my services but I chose Pirates and I still don’t regret it even today. I will always love and respect the team and the chairman (Irvin Khoza) because they’ve always been good to me. The team’s jersey and that badge is more important than anyone, so I’d do anything to serve the team again. If they need me back home, I will definitely go back home and do the job. However, at the moment I’m focusing on helping Vasco da Gama retain the PSL status,” said Kamwendo.

SOWETO RULES!
The PSL’s 2010/11 Players’ Awards closed a dramatic season of football since our readmission into the international world of sport and the formation of the PSL.

Undoubtedly, the season has been by far the most exciting and thrilling with clubs displaying a knack to fight for every point and trophy available.

With Orlando Pirates taking three trophies, one cannot help but take a nostalgic journey into the seventies and eighties when it was then easy for some teams to claim more than two trophies.

At some stage both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates wrestled everything that was offered to be crowned proverbial champions in different seasons.

This time around, Pirates has evoked such memories and for that may I once more congratulate them for the achievement.

Their capturing of the NEDBANK Cup after seventy minutes of trailing by a goal against an equally determined Black Leopards crowned a very good season for officials, players and supporters alike.

Interestingly, they ensured that all PSL trophies remained in SOWETO; something that erased the myth that the Tshwane teams of SuperSport and Mamelodi Sundowns have taken over the football reigns. This time around SOWETO rules the roost and would repeat the feat in the 2011/12 season.

Whilst the Players Awards were fitting to drop the final curtain, they however could not escape the unfortunate twists that are common in our sport. Without taking nothing from Thulani Serero, I believe Andile Jali should have bagged the PSL’s Player of the Year trophy after a consistent and sterling performance in the season.

I am tempted to think that selectors may have overlooked the criteria that clearly state that a player need to have featured consistently in a number of PSL matches and their competitions for such a category.

Besides steering Orlando Pitates into lifting the ultimate ABSA Premier trophy, you will recall that Andile Jali reigned supreme in the Telkom Knockout, the MTN 8 and the Nedbank by claiming Player of the Match offerings on many occasions. In the process his mettle shone to attract national selectors that he equally impressed in both official and friendly international matches.

Whereas I admit that Thulani Serero devastated opponents by literally leading the Ajax onslaught to claim other categories, I truly believe that Jali should have been crowned the football king of the 2010/11 season

You heard it from Da Kaiser!!

OliverNorth: 2011-06-03 17:14

If pirates officially closed on thursday then Definitely krol, lucky and Graig Rossley's contracts have been extended.

OliverNorth: 2011-06-03 17:20

@ Tebogo!
if u are a Khosi fan than we don't need ur comments, support nor advise and listen to what u say because real OP fans want this coach to stay no matter for people like u that think soccer is all about skills and what what. well krols things in trebles, scoring goals, and most important rather a draw than a lost........................

WE NEVER SAY DIE....

ONCE A PIRATE ALWAYS A PIRATE...
