Amosun visits Obasanjo

ABEOKUTA— GOVERNOR Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, yesterday, paid a surprise visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, at his HillTop home in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Governor Amosun immediately after a special church service at the St Peters Cathedral, Ake Abeokuta, to mark his inauguration, headed straight for the HillTop residence of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees , BOT, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to pay a courtesy visit.
The former president, who was also at the church service was pleasantly surprised and told the governor so.
He said, “you beat me to it (the visit to his home), but that is okay. You are welcome home”. They thereafter retired into the home of the former President for a discussion.
Governor Amosun had earlier informed the former president that he decided to pay him a visit to tap from his fountain of knowledge and wisdom.
Earlier at the church service, the governor had promised to live up to the expectations of the people.
He said he and members of his cabinet that would soon be unfolded, would work assiduously to rebuild the state and restore it its pride of place.
Delivering a sermon during the Church service, Rt. Rev. Samuel Ogundeji, advised the governor to always remember that his election was made possible by God.
Rev Ogundeji noted that “power belongs to God and He gives it to whoever He desires”, but was quick to add that power should be used for the general good of the people.
