Silver Ferns v Australia player ratings

The Silver Ferns' player ratings from the Test against Australia at Arena Manawatu tonight:

GS - Irene van Dyk (26/30) - 7/10
It was a mixed night for the veteran shooter. She dominated early before the pressure of Julie Corletto, Laura Geitz and, later, Susan Furham outhustled the Silver Ferns' offensive end. Pulled down three rebounds.

GA - Maria Tutaia (21/27) - 5/10
After the heroics of Delhi, the sweet-shooting Tutaia had an average night. Committed a game-high eight turnovers and watched six of her shots go astray as player of the match Corletto had her way.

WA- Temepara George - 6/10
The focal point of the Test for the wrong reason. Her subbing for Liana Leota after being in a fierce head-to-head battle with Mo'onia Gerrard swung the Test Australia's way. Not her best night before that but her experience and energy was sorely missed when she was gone in the third quarter. By the time she re-entered the Test - it was all too late.

C - Laura Langman- 6/10
Steady game from the centre. She fed the circle well at times - but that was only when van Dyk and Tutaia were in shooting range. Good energy and was probably the match of opposite Natalie von Bertouch.

WD - Joline Henry - 7/10
Henry was all over wing attack Kimberlee Green from the outset as she continued her strong season form. Executed one first half intercept and was a good link from the back of the court.

GD - Anna Scarlett 7/10
A quality Test from the gangly Scarlett. Harassed Natalie Medhurst all game and pulled down two rebounds - although she will be the first to acknowledge it should have been a lot more. However, a fumble when Australia was up by 47-44 in the final quarter proved costly.

GK Leana de Bruin - 7.5/10
The Silver Ferns best player and to think the ANZ Championship MVP was only in the side because of the late injury to captain Casey Williams. Shared a game high three rebounds and executed two intercepts. Unfortunately for her - she should find herself back on the bench come Auckland.

Substitution - Liana Leota
A costly experiment that didn't pay off.
