CAPDAN backs NITEX 2011 ICT expo
The Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria, (CAPDAN) may have bounced back to business even as it has thrown its weight behind 2011 edition of Nigeria Information Technology Exhibition , (NITEX) already exciting the industry as a result of exhibiting opportunities.
The President of Nigerian Computer Society, (NCS) Prof. Charles Uwadia who disclosed this last week in Lagos while unfolding details of NITEX 2011 also support by other IT bodies including the Information Technology (Industry) Association (ITAN), Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON), and National Association of Computer Science Students (NACOSS), National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) among others would create healthy competition among indigenous ICT vendors.
Prof. Uwadia said that NITEX will be a platform to demonstrate and showcase the innate brilliance, strength of character, and resilience of the typical Nigerian entrepreneur, adding that the the event will be inclusive exhibition, bringing together IT hardware and software manufacturers, developers, vendors and resellers; service and solution providers in the Nigerian market.
Slated for next month in Lagos, he said that NITEX will also creates a forum for creativity, innovation and healthy competition among industry players. It is an avenue for promoting and encouraging indigenous, local entrepreneurs, and emerging markets to showcase their products and services, he said. Through these efforts, he was optimistic that the menace of unemployment in our country would be redressed.
“We also expect prospective buyers from government and the industry, policy makers, students and members of the public” he added.
The NIMC, SMEDAN, NEPC, and NOTAP have also thrown their support behind the trade exhibition.
