CIBN, banks partner to solve cash management

The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and the Committee of Heads of Bank Operations (CHBO) are organising a workshop aimed at fashioning out modalities and strategies that will produce a more convenient and effective cash management system.

In a statement signed by Head, Corporate Affairs, CIBN, Mr. Ben Igbokwe, the workshop tagged “National Workshop on Integrated Cash Management” scheduled to hold from Tuesday, June 14 through Wednesday, June 15, at Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Ikeja, is coming amid concerns over the huge challenges of cash management in the country.

Specifically designed for staff of CBN, NDIC, banks, discount houses, cash movement firms, security agencies and other financial institutions in the country, the workshop boasts of Mr. Ben Onyido, former Director of Currency and Branch Operations, CBN; Mr. Charles Nwodo, Jnr., GMD/CEO, XL Management Services Ltd.; Mr. Sadiq Bello, Chief Compliance Officer, GTB Plc; Prince (Dr.) Gbolahan Dada, MD/CEO, Joe-han Network Marketing; Mr. Segun Adebanji, Vice President, Alvac Nigeria Ltd. and Dr. Uju M. Ogubunka, Registrar/CE, CIBN, as speakers.

Guests of Honour include Mr. Muhammad Ndah, Director Currency operations, CBN and Mr. Yakubu Alkali, Commissioner of Police, Lagos State.

According to Igbokwe, participants are expected to understand the principles of cash management in the economy, develop optimal cash management strategies and manage the risks associated with cash handling by the end of the programme.
