Security experts meet in Lagos
AS the state of insecurity takes a more frightening dimension, the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), a global organisation, will next month meet with other experts in Lagos to brainstorm on the issue.
Critical issues associated with the country’s security will feature in the group’s 2012 African regional seminar and exhibition holding on July 26 and 27 at Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
The conference will address security issues, including bank robbery, the Boko Haram insurgency, kidnapping and terrorism. The exhibition aspect is expected to showcase latest technological solutions needed to tackle modern security and safety challenges. Exhibitors and security experts will be on ground to teach individuals basic tips for averting disasters or mitigating their impacts.
In a statement, Senior Vice President and chairman of the organising committee, Mrs. Vicky Ekhomu, said representatives of diplomatic missions, captains of industries and government functionaries would attend the yearly event where notable foreign and local experts would be speaking.
“The incessant bombings in the country are worrisome. The security agencies need the assistance of all Nigerians, especially in the area of information,” Ekhomu said.
