Nigeria Daily News: Lagos Auto Crash: Family of three, others escape death Lagos Auto Crash: Family of three, others escape death ================================================================================ Staff on 31/08/2012 11:00:00 Olayinka Latona A family of three with some other passengers narrowly escaped death Friday in fatal accident that occurred at Freedom bus stop, by Mile 2, along Apapa-Oshodi expressway. The accident which caused slight gridlock from Mile 2 to the scene of the incident involved a Conoil tanker with registration number XP 169 AAA and two commercial buses popularly called ‘danfo’ with plate numbers; XR 821 KRD and XC 48 KSF respectively. Photo: Bunmi Azeez  According to eye witnesses, the tanker coming from Oshodi towards Apapa was said to have lost control due to what is suspected to be a brake failure and collided with the commercial buses that were discharging and picking passengers from bus stop. Some of the passengers luckily escaped with severe injuries which may be serious on account of some of them being to the head. Two women, a boy and other passengers who sustained various degrees of injury were taken to a nearby hospital. One of the victims who identified himself as Mr. Ilo Andrew said it was by providence that he and his three children were still alive as the bus they were in somersaulted twice after it was hit by the tanker.
