INEC Fixes Aug 11 For Elections In Imo Wards

THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has fixed August 11 for
elections to be conducted in the four INEC wards in Oguta Local Council of Imo
State for the House of Assembly elections.
In a chat with The Guardian at the weekend in Owerri, the state capital, the
Public Affairs Officer of the commission in the state, Mr. Chinedu Onyeji, said
the elections were necessary in keeping with the recent Court of Appeal judgment
in Owerri that elections be held only in four out of the 11 wards in the local
council.
He listed the wards as Nwaorie, Ogwudi/Aro, Mgbala and Ndiuloukwu.
